‘We Close Our Eyes’ spent fourteen weeks on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 5 in April 1985. In the United States, the single reached 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 5 on the Hot Dance Music/Play chart.
‘Call Me’ reached 12 on the UK Singles Chart and 54 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is included on the soundtrack for the 2002 video game Grand Theft Auto:Vice City
To promote sales of the album the song was given a radical remix and released as The Sequel.
Two 7″ picture discs were released featuring a photo of either Peter Cox or Richard Drummie along with a gatefold sleeve to encourage collectors to buy the pair.
The 12″ featured Don’t Look Down (The Stratospheric Mix), SOS (The Perpendicular Mix), Innocence (The Desperation Mix) and Eye To Eye (The Horizontal Mix)
This was the first Go West single to be released in the CD format. This featured the A Day In Aarhus extended version remixed by Brian Malouf. Interestingly, this CD was used as the extra disc when Dancing On The Couch was released with a bonus disc in the US.
As well as the standard 7″ sleeve there was also a poster fold-out sleeve
The single version was recorded live from Hammersmith Odeon during the Run-away train Tour (see video section) , while the album version featured backing vocals by Kate Bush.
The 12″ featured live versions of Don’t Look Down, Little Caesar and Call Me recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon

The CD featured the Jon Gass 12″ Mix and an acapella version of the song. There is also a ‘Promo Only’ CD featuring the Wake-Up Mix that is well worth tracking down
A 2 CD set was released to promote sales. CD1 featured Faithful (Lover’s Prayer Mix) whilst CD2 featured a completely rerecorded version of The King Of Wishful Thinking produced by Wendy and Lisa.
