SIGNED Lathe cut collectors 12″ vinyl of GO WEST’s classic single ‘King of Wishful Thinking’ (the Gary Stevenson-produced re-recording).

The GO WEST Logo and track titles are reverse-etched on the clear vinyl so that you can read them them while the vinyl is on your turntable!

These Lathe Cut vinyl records are made one at a time, in real time, using a modern high quality stereo disc cutting lathe. They are comparable in quality and durability to traditional pressed vinyl.

There are only 50 available. Each one has been numbered and signed by both Peter and Richard.

We can finally announce that our Cardiff show on the ‘Best of Both Worlds’ Tour will now take place at the Utilita Area, following closure of St David’s Hall. We’re delighted the Utilita Arena has been able to accommodate us on the same date so we can still bring this exciting show to our fans in Wales. All existing customers will be notified by their point of purchase and have their tickets transferred to the venue, and all remaining tickets go on sale Wednesday at 10am

10 August 2023 - Tonbridge Castle Cancellation

Message from Tonbridge Castle Events – It is with immense sadness that the organisers of The Walled Garden Music Festival announce today that due to difficult trading conditions and unforeseen circumstances the festival will not take place this September at Tonbridge Castle. Since the announcement of the festival in September 2022, the economic climate has deteriorated on a monthly basis with significant rises in the cost of living also. Sadly we are not alone as a number of other small independent festivals have announced cancellations recently.

We will be contacting all ticket purchasers tomorrow with details concerning full refunds.

Here is the full correct answer. At 11.00 am on January 7^th Peter and Richard went into St Johns Wood Studios, met Godley and Crème and started filming the video for ‘We Close Our Eyes’.

There are only 50 of these and one (number 50) will be going to the competition winner.
They have all been signed and numbered by Peter and Richard.
They will be on sale when the competition ends. We will notify you how you can purchase.

A similar item was put on sale on the ABC site last week. It sold out in 45 mins which is why we’ll give notice when they are going on sale so everyone has a fair chance.

22 May 2023 - Go West touring in 2024 with Wet Wet Wet!

Two of the most iconic bands of their era, Wet Wet Wet and Go West, have announced they will unite for the first time ever for a co-headline UK tour.

The Best of Both Worlds tour will see the legendary bands play shows across the UK in early 2024, performing their seminal songs from a combined treasure-trove of hits with 36 Top 40 UK Singles between them!

15 May 2023 - Competition Winner

We had a lot of entries in to the competition to win a signed test pressing of 3D. Thank you all.

Message from John:

I had been trying to get a record deal for ‘Cox & Drummie’ since 1983, playing demos of their new songs to the A&R people at pretty much all of the major record labels. None of them were interested in signing ‘Cox and Drummie’.

So, at the beginning of 1984 I decided we needed to arrange to record really good versions of the two most commercial tunes. at which point Peter and Richard asked their good friend Gary Stevenson to produce the songs.

In February 1984 they went into Chipping Norton Recording Studios and recorded ‘Call Me’ and ‘We Close Our Eyes’ – The correct answer.

The day after Gary mixed the two tracks I took them into the boys’ publishers, ATV Music, and gave a cassette of the songs to our contact Sally Perryman.

The following day Sally played the songs to Ron Fair, the A&R man from the US part of Chrysalis Record, who loved them and that same afternoon he called me and we agreed a deal for Go West to sign to Chrysalis Records.

Their debut single ‘We Close Our Eyes’ was released in 1985, it reached number 4 in the UK charts and became a top 10 hit in the USA. The success of ‘We Close Our Eyes’ was followed by three other top 10 hits – ‘Call Me’, ‘Goodbye Girl’ and ‘Don’t Look Down’.
